2. LEMONGRASS ESSENTIAL OIL

The effectiveness of lemongrass as a mosquito repellent has been the subject of a many studies. In a 2015 study, researchers found that a combination of lemongrass essential oil and olive oil provided 98.8% protection against the southern house mosquito.
Other research found that topical application of Lemongrass essential oil provided 74–95% protection for 2.5 hours against two types of mosquito during a field study. How to Use Essential Oil to Prevent Mosquitoes
- Diffuse a combination of mosquito repelling essential oils in a diffuser in your home and car.

- Place essential oil on cotton balls and place around the house. It is very important to use enough of the essential oil to repel the insects. The stronger the smell the better. Apply at least 5 drops of essential oil to each cotton ball.
- Place the essential oil in clay diffusers in areas where insects gain access to the inside of your home. It’s important for them to detect the smell before entry.
- Make a natural insect repellent spray and use whenever you go outside.

- Create an essential oil insect repellent roller bottle to easily apply to skin whenever you are outdoors.
- Make a room spray and spray on floorboards or entry points around the home. All you need is one small spray bottle, 15mls of peppermint oil, 15mls of water. Pour oil and water into bottle and shake well.
